“And you shall write them on the posts of your house and on your gates…” (Deut.6:8). With a mezuzah, we fulfill this commandment by writing the words of the “Shema” on parchment and placing it on the doorposts of our home. The parchment itself is placed inside a cover or box to protect it from the elements (the mezuzah case). Niches for mezuzahs have been found on doorposts of buildings from settlements over 2000 years ago. This commandment is kept faithfully by Jews to this very day. Many also put a mezuzah on the doorpost of every room in the house.
Comes in 2 sizes: Medium and XLarge:
The medium sized mezuzah case measures approx. 5.1″ x 1.81″ x 0.7″ Th ( 15 x 4.4 x 1.5 cm)
The XL size mezuzah case measures approx 7.1″ x 1.81″ x 0.7″ Th (20 x 4.2 x 1.5 cm)
Add $53 to purchase the mezuzah with the scroll (klaf), hand written on parchment by a scribe living in the hills of Jerusalem in Israel.
You will receive a mezuzah similar to this one, the mosaic panel and the base woods will be different, as every item at Etz-Ron is unique and one-of-a-kind. All the woods in this wooden mezuzah retain their natural colors and grain patterns. No stains or dyes are used.
You choose your mezuzah according to the end cap color: mid tones like ash, oak, or beech or dark tones like wenge (almost black), paduak (orangy), or sapelli mahogany. The main picture in this listing gives an approximate image of end cap colors ( dark on left and mid tone on right). Keep in mind that all woods get darker over time as they react with the air.
