Pyrography
The dictionary describes pyrography as the art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point( called nibs).
Not long ago I started experimenting with branding pyrography. When doing branding pyrography you burn the design in the wood until it is blackened and scorched. One can create a myriad of patterns and mix and match as well. The possibilities are endless. All that is needed is patience, and good face filters.
Here you will see some examples of branding pyrography on turned vessels, frames and miniature hollow forms. Do you have a project in mind? I welcome ideas to explore.
